My family and I were excited to visit this new pizza place. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience. While the food was awesome it was overpriced. The atmosphere wasn't very inviting either. The music was too load (there is no noise canceling deco anywhere so the sound echoes) leaving every guest to yell just to hear the person next to you. It was also extremely cold. Normally I think that's just me but when you see at least three families seated near you and all four families are struggling to keep cold kids calm, then it's too cold. I would also like to add that out of all 20+ or so employees we could see only two of them appeared clean and presentable. Our server seemed as if we were wasting her time.

I got the holy shiitake when my SO and I went there and it was extremely low density when it came to the mushrooms. Three different kinds of mushrooms were stated on the menu and that's what we got, one of each kind, cut up of course in order to make sure at least one piece landed on a slice. Still a tasty pizza though, I just expected the mushroom pizza at a place called mellow mushroom to be more... mushroom-y.

Great service from Danna and a terrific pizza. Couldn't ask for more. We will be back.

Best pizza around. Great pretzels and cheese. Great staff. Very helpful manager. The Mighty Meaty pizza is the way to go.

The pretzels with beer cheese dip are delish! The lil salads are the perfect size. Service was good. Watching the cooks hand toss the dough was pretty neat too.

TERRIBLE service. I want to love Mellow Mushroom, but our third visit was a continuation of disappointment. The food is great. The service is the worst in town. First visit was slow, but it was one of the first days, so forgivable. Second time we sat at the bar. They forgot to order our pizza. It took 2 hours to get a pizza, eat and leave. Just left from our third visit. Our waitress totally forgot about us at the bar. Other bartenders served people on either side of us and ignored our empty glasses. Pizza took 35 minutes. So many workers and such poor service. Hope they get better, but not sure how many more times we will try. There are other good pizza places in town.

I think this is my favorite pizza place in Orlando. The pizza is delicious, the atmosphere is great, the service is excellent. The decor is very hippie and fun. This is a good place for groups.

This is a nice spot to grab a meal, especially during lunch. The place is bigger inside than one would think. Full of tv's, friendly staff, and a nice selection of food to choose from.

This pizza is a little greasy but yummy. The crust is what makes it the bomb. Try their spinach artichoke dip its awesome. I love the gadgety theme and look to this place. Nice staff

Good food, a little pricy, but not by that much. Pizza, great sandwiches, etc. We had a good time, service was very good. I'm not sure it's somewhere you would go to all the time, but for a change I think it's a different place for pizza that has a good selection of other food in case the whole group doesn't want pizza. They are a chain, but they don't dot the landscape like McD's, Pizza Hut, etc.

Sorry, won't be going back. Have visited Mellow Mushroom 5 times and it never gets any better. On 2 occasions have been up all night with indigestion. I understand we all have different tastes but to me the pizza is not good. Crust is too thick, the sauce is too sweet and the cheese doesn't taste real.

An hour of sitting before the food arrived while others who were seated after us were eating. The staff apologized which made it nice. The food is good hope the time to cook it improves

We started out with Cinnamon sugar and honey pretzels. The honey was fine, but you could barely even tell there was Cinnamon or sugar on them. They need to take a pretzel cooking lesson from Auntie Anne. My wife got the Chicken and Cheese Hoagie. It needed seasoning. The grilled teriyaki chicken had zero taste of teriyaki. I got the Mighty Meaty Pizza. It too was severely lacking in seasoning. The sparing sauce that was on the pizza had little flavor. It's like they just cut up a bunch of meat, added no seasoning (even salt and pepper would help), put on a little sauce, and then cooked it. Pizza Hut crust has better taste. The atmosphere was fairly loud. The restaurant was clean and the staff nice. The pizza prices are overpriced. The Hoagie prices were fine. I would not return based on the bland flavored food we ate.

First time here. It was a Sunday afternoon and not real busy. Got seated right away but the server hovered too much, which was annoying. We both ordered half sandwiches and waited and waited - asked the server how long and he admitted he forgot to put the order in right away and it should be out shortly. Manager, Nick, made it right and the sandwiches ended up being very delicious, though they came with no sides - no chips or anything. So - food was delicious tho expensive; service was horrible and Manager was awesome.

I have eaten here 3 previous times and loved it... They really fell the wagon tonight! First the silverware fork was so dirty it was impossible to miss the Big clump of food on the fork and then I was delivered a plate that had brown liquid.. The manager said probably someone spilled their drink on the plates. The manager sported a Mohawk and the line cooks looked very disheveled! Lost my appetite and will never come back. The board of health needs to check this place out!!

This place is awesome! It's clean, spacious, with high ceilings and decorated and designed in a fun, vibrant way. The bar is very nice and the booths are cozy. There are big windows throughout the place that let lots of natural light in. I ordered the Holy Shiitake pizza with gluten free crust and vegan cheese, and it was excellent! Will definitely be back.

On our second visit, the food was very good but the service and front house staff were unbelievably incompetent. If some management was applied, it could be a really great place. Several things were really awful, but the server was the worse. Completely acted as if we were putting her out. Sorry but the best of food cant mask a flat out bad attitude. From the hostess to the busboy, they need help. We will not go back.

Looks good but it goes downhill from there! The place seems to be ran by 17 year olds with zero customer service skills. Our waitress was sweet the food was decent to marginal I had the sausage sub and pretzel bites. We also ordered an Italian sub and chicken sandwich that and 2 drinks 39$ with the happy hour special!

Have tried several times to eat dinner there but did not want to get in line since people were lined up out the door. Finally ate there for lunch the other day, had two slices of pepperoni which were reasonably priced at under $3 each. They were good, as well as the pretzels we had for an appetizer. Not too sure if it was come back for dinner and wait forever good. But if I were to come back for dinner I would try something besides the pizza. They apparently only serve slices during the lunch hour on week days. If you are iffy about the place I would certainly recommend check it out at lunch so you do not have to wait too long for a table, we sat right down. The atmosphere was nice and it seemed pretty clean.

Fantastic dough, fun atmosphere, think hippie. Menu choices are for everyone. If you don't want pizza there is hummus, bruschetta, salads, good stuff. The individual pizza size is substantial and paired with my salad, it was just too much. The server this evening was off (not sure if they were properly staffed or if she was just off), but I guess that happens in the better restaurants too. The decor is very eclectic and they have booths (my favorite) and stand alone table seating. We did not wait more than 5 minutes for a party of 7 on a Friday night, so I would say that is success. We will go back!

Finally, some decent pizza in Lake County! Tons of choices, good service, interesting beer menu. A small pie will run you about $12, but you get what you pay for, and this pizza is worth it! Gluten-free crust is great, and gf pizzas get prepared in a separate area, so there's a lessened chance of cross contamination. It's nice to be able to go out with my gf friends and not have to worry.

Mellow mushroom has become my new fav pizza place to go! Not only is the pizza good but so is the subs, and appetizers especially the brushetta!!! Service is alot better and faster and our waitress Danna was awesome, she took really good care of us. I totally recommend giving them a try or a second chance!!!

Was so excited that we finally got a new restaurant in our area, but this one is a living up to the mellow mushroom name. Food took over an hour and the restaurant wasn't that busy. Pizza was slightly burnt. I really hope it gets better as time goes!! The waitress was super sweet.

If you haven't been to this restaurant since they opened you should give them another try. They are under new management, and it is a completely different experience! Service is excellent now-it used to take forever and the staff always seemed frazzled-but now wait staff is as exceptional as the gourmet pizza.

Mellow Mushroom never lets me down. This pizza chain based in Atlanta has a cool new vibe in lovely Mt Dora. The pizzas are gourmet and the decor is cool. My favorite is The Holy Shiitake. The crust is yummy(for all you crust wasters out there! STOP THAT!). They also have gluten free crust. The beer on tap is varied, try Longmont Left Hand's Flat Tire. The only problem is that the new kid in town is getting a lot of attention so the wait for a table was around 20 min (usually too long for my ADD self!)

Finally got to try this new place, and overall I'm not impressed. The building itself & decor is very nice and hip, especially for this area. We picked up a large meat lovers pizza for takeout and while quality ingredients are used here, our pizza was very burnt on the bottom. Normally I would bring this kind of thing to the attention of the manager, but we were very busy that night and just didn't have the time. Also, their prices are very much on the high side of the spectrum, and I doubt we will return anytime soon.

Bad service! We waited a long time for this place to open. We waited a little longer until the crowds died down. Today we went there for lunch. First thing that amazed me was no hair nets worn by anyone in the kitchen area. And the awful hairdos on some of the wait staff. We placed an order for two sandwiches. We waited, and waited, and waited. We saw people getting food who came in after us. I called the waitress over and I complained. 30 minutes passed before we got our food. The manager(?) brought it to us and apologized up and down about it and said he'd take care of the bill. I thanked him and we ate. Neither my wife or me cared for the sandwiches. They cut all the way through the bun so it was fun trying to keep the contents of the sandwich in the bun. It was nice gesture by the manager to pick up the check but that was not enough to convince me to come back. They need better kitchen management. Fast forward to April 2015. Decided to try this place again since they've been open for almost a year. We order chicken wings and we found them to be pretty good wings. But the sticker shock was a medium pizza for 20 bucks! We were not really pleased with the pizza. It was meat lover pizza (?). Way too much sauce! Couldn't taste the cheese or meats. Later that evening, both my wife and I felt sick. The sauce was just not agreeing with me. The staff was fantastic. I got to give them that! Outside issues. Why isn't the restaurant enforcing the restricted parking? Why aren't the disabled parking spaces in front of the entrance? We definitely will not return to this restaurant. 2 times bad, no sense on returning. Overpriced! I can get better pizza at several local shops in Eustis and Mt Dora.

Awful awful, I understand this being Mother's Day, but this is why we chose to sit in patio where there're were only 3 tables there. The server gave us to the other server cuz she was trying to be fair( we overheard this) . We were asked what we wanted to drink, no silverware or a hello. Never introduced herself to us. Later heard a table call her name and believed he said Kristin, she was young, glasses, short, burnette. Well she placed menus down, repeated order and then 40 min later still waiting for table. The last straw came when a table of 4 got their food after sitting down within 15 min after giving our server our order. We got up and told someone inside and as I was leaving the other server out on patio asked if she could help but by that time I was very hungry and had to go. Not once did we see a manager check on us, no apology from server.. All we got was it is coming when she probably saw my face when other table got their food. I have heard such good reviews and was looking forward to try this, well not impressed at all

Went there and had the Capri and my wife had the stuffed Portobello. They are both excellent and would be great as a meal instead of an appetizer. The Holy Shiitake was ok. A little greasy for our taste high in salt and calories. 600 a slice. I feel the place is a little over rated.

Overall a TERRIBLE experience. Long wait time to be seated at 1:00pm (35min), rude hostess, once seated no service, over 10 minutes sitting there and had to grab a waitress's attention to be helped, no friendly service, long wait for food, about the only positive thing I can say was the food did not taste bad. Here is a more in depth run down of how things went for people who want to read more. The place wasn't that busy and we were quoted a 15-20 minute wait. Discouraged we decided to wait as my wife really wanted to try here for the first time. 35 minutes later my wife asked a hostess when she thought we would be seated, not in any way was my wife rude or even short. The reply was very rude and along the lines of "oh well, we are busy." I even watched the hostess laugh as my wife turned away to walk back to me! Almost immediately after that another hostess sat us at a table and got our drinks. She must not have communicated to a server of our arrival and we sat for over 10 minutes until I grabbed someone's attention. We ordered food, it came out about 25 minutes later and was tasty. No complaints about the food. But there is no way I could ever recommend this place to anyone. Absolute terrible experience and I don't understand how they are still in business. I see very many yelp reviews showing the same issues. I should have looked before going but it was a decision we made while driving, I wish I had known, I'll never go back and will steer friends and neighbors clear of this place. Unfortunate.

Mellow Mushroom is the only pizza I eat anymore. The House pizza here was good. Our server totally sucked. Her tip reflected it. You would think that if you are getting low tips, you might want to change your attitude.

WILL NEVER VISIT A MELLOW MUSHROOM EVER AGAIN. Over prized pizza that isn't even good. Accidentally left my phone.. Got home tracked it to the restraint the manager refused that it was there... Turns out the bartender picked it up and was going to keep it. MANAGER did nothing. Couldn't care less.... Don't even want to give one star.

Pretzels and beer cheese is the best! You can't go to MM without getting this appetizer - it's THAT good!Good selection of craft beers and a full bar. However, be prepared to wait for your food. Service is slow but only because of their cooking practices. They make all the dough fresh! I'd recommend if you've got time for it. Hard to go on a lunch break hour. It's also a bit pricey for pizza and subs.

I ate at this location on February 12th. My husband and I ordered a medium crispy crust pizza. The Mellow brand has an awesome dough they use and somehow this location quit using it. Our pizza came out lukewarm at best and the bartender had to have the kitchen stick it back in the oven. The pizza had sat so long the dough was soggy. And we had asked for extra bacon of which the extra was placed on top of the already baked pie. We frequently visit this location. It was always a friendly place. It was always great to see the owner, Mike, while we were there. We've been told there is new management...... Such a shame. The moment we walked in the vibrancy of the place was gone along with the quality of the food. We won't be back.

We've been waiting for this place to open now for a while, and were not disappointed. I'm a big fan of Mellow Mushroom pizza in general, and this location has not changed my mind on that. They have a great selection of pizzas, and the pretzels are amazing, particularly with the beer cheese (save the leftover cheese for your pizza crust). We were please to see that they offer dairy free cheese, as our son is allergic to dairy. Now we don't have to feel guilty about eating pizza in front of him :) The beer selection here is great, and they seem to be rotating the selection rather frequently to change things up. Service each time we have been has been good, and the food has been consistent. I would avoid the cinnamon pretzels, as other reviewers have noted, they need to figure out how to get more cinnamon and sugar on there, they are dry and flavorless. Parking here can be quite challenging, but there are other businesses that are closed after 5:00, and you can use their parking lots. Outdoor seating here is quite nice, as they have a wrap around deck, utilizing all the available space they have. We will definitely be coming back here often.

We were greeted warmly and seated right away. Started out with the Garlic Bites and beers. Beers made it to the table in 5-7 minutes? Not a long wait at all if you wash you hands after handling those very public, plastic coated menus. : ) Four easy servings of bites to be had in the full portion. Plenty of garlic and plenty of parmesan on the bites too. Came out in reasonable time and was too hot to eat when first put on the the table. The small red marinara sauce side is on the sweet side of the scale but not overly so. Holy Shiitake pie was really good. Lots of good things on them slices. I do frown a bit when there is over 2" of barren crust though. This pie had a couple 3" or so slices and well after the garlic bites, did not find any delight in more of the similar. All in all, Sonaiah did a great job too. Accurate, timely and "on the job" just right! My friends decided to split the bill in multiple stupid ways and made it somewhat complicated; in which she nailed it!

A party of 10 at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night (March 14th). We were seated right away on the patio (great ambiance out there, like sitting in the middle of a forest!). No bugs. Casey was our waiter and he was great! Not sure what everyone had, but I had the mushroom soup and pretzels with beer cheese sauce. The soup was SO delicious! So much flavor and mushrooms! Yum. The pretzels were yummy as well, the beer cheese, not so much. Kind of runny, but good flavor. A cheese pizza was shared by my granddaughter and her friend, which they took home and conveniently left it for me. It was great the next day and the next. Reasonably priced and wish they were closer as we are in Winter Garden! Keep up the good work Mellow Mushroom!

Second time in a row when they don't have the proper ingredients for things on their menu. The pizza was messed up so the wait time was double. Pizza crust was mediocre and bland. I could get better flavor at Pizza Hut. 2/3 times I have been disappointed with over all experience. Only thing that persuaded me to come back was the beer cheese and pretzel bites. The visits are now few and far between. Not worth the money.

Mellow Mushroom finally opens in Mount Dora! People must have been waiting a long time for this because a week after they opened early on a Thursday the place was PACKED. The wait to be seated was about 30 minutes and people were parking all over the grass, over curbs, etc. The staff working the front counter were never the less happy and friendly despite being slammed. Our server was nice but was very new. Not only to the location but she said it was her first week as a server, ever. I think her inexperience combined with the kitchen working out the bugs led to several dropped balls during our dinner. Even with these mistakes I would still give the place four stars overall because the food is that good. We started with the Pretzel app. The pretzels were perfectly cooked, nicely seasoned and served hot. The accompanying beer cheese sauce (an up-charge) didn't come out until we had already almost devoured the pretzels. The sauce is worth getting, BTW, it's delicious! We also ordered a Caesar salad which never showed up even though we asked about it repeatedly. Well, it actually did show up, at the very end of the meal. They ended up comping it and sending it with us to go. Unfortunately being already coated with dressing (we'd asked for the dressing on the side) it was soggy by the time we ate it. They had ran out of milk for the kids. The Holy Shitake pizza was fabulous. As soon as you take that first bite your mouth is flooded with flavor. The seasoned crust, garlic, mushrooms, cheese combine to make a rich, salty masterpiece. My only complaint was that the toppings stopped too far from the edge of the pie. We finished up with the brownie sundae which was not worth the calories. The brownie was barely warm and was a little hard on the edges. It was topped with ice cream and whipped cream which were both good. I think we'd opt for the cookie sundae instead next time. My son's kids cheese "pizza" was actually made not on pizza crust but on Italian bread. He didn't complain and ate the whole thing. They have a decent beer selection that rotates and some of which are from local breweries. Our new server had to read the list but was utterly unfamiliar with the brews. She then brought out the wrong beer by accident. The restaurant is LOUD and bright with funky sculptures and TVs everywhere. This is the perfect family option in Northwest Orange/Lake county and will probably be busy like this for quite a while. I know we'll be back!

We went there for lunch yesterday for the first time. The place was nicely decorated and the people were nice. The food was good. However we had to wait about 20 is minutes for our appetizer. And there was confusion about the availability of our order - we were told something in our main order was not available (after the appetizer arrived) but then we received what we ordered. So confusion. There must be some miscommunication going on. Also we were charged $3 for adding 2 slices of avocado to our bill. They were apologetic that our appetizer took so long to come, yet no one thought to a. Fill our waters or b. Offer a discount or something. Maybe we just went at the wrong time of day/week. In any case the food was good so that was a plus! I give the place 3.5 stars.

This was our first time here. We thought it looked neat and the pizza place we love is closed on Sunday, so we tried something new. The service wasn't great, the food left a lot to be desired (we had a pizza with ham and pepperoni) and the price was too high for the quality of the food. The decor inside was pretty plain. The outside looks much better. I noticed that most everyone working looked like they were still in high school. They carried on private conversations the entire time and we were pretty much ignored. That's probably why our server was pretty much absent. We won't be back.

This place is a hit or miss. I've had really good food and some awefully prepared food there. last night was not a great food experience. our waiter was good, and the beers were great. the pretzels that we ordered were not all the same. 3 were perfect, with a nice crust and not doughy. yet the other 3 were doughy and chewy with no real crust. my wife's pizza (sm. cheese) was good, a little overdone for my taste, but my wife likes it that way. My friends pizza looked good and he seemed to enjoy it. I had the spiked sausage hoagie. sadly mine sucked. Sausage was burnt. the hoagie roll was cut completely in half, which made eating crumbly sausage almost impossible as it just fell out of the sandwich. I did mention to my waiter why I didn't finish it and he then returned saying my manager insitis on taking it off your bill. I thought that was nice, especially since I intended on paying for my whole meal. I will still return here, not for the pizza, but for a good environment to have some food and beers with friends. they have some bugs to work out with efficiency and consistency, but all in all its not bad. my only real gripe with this place is the cost of toppings, it's overpriced, in my opinion, and seems chinsey when the toppings are added.

I know the restaurant is still new to the area, however, the wait is still pretty... The service tonight was pretty bad, the food was below average. It's not on the "lost cause" list yet but at the moment it is just 50/50. I enjoyed our last dominos delivery better.... The beer selection is the saving grace at this point....

Our family went for a celebratory outing. We were seated quickly and had a server named Casey. He recommended a delightful beverage called a melted snowman which was delicious. I had the Muffaletta bread which I also ate as my entree. He was helpful with my gluten questions and made it clear for me that they do have a gluten free crust but he couldn't guarantee this particular item would not have cross contamination due to the fact it isn't on the gluten free menu. I took a chance and ordered it anyway. It was heaven in my mouth. He was also careful to place my daughter's pizza well away from me as I also have a severe shellfish allergy and she had a pizza with shrimp on it. As a person with severe food allergies I appreciated how thoughtful and concerned he was with my special dietary considerations. I felt safe knowing he was taking care of my table.

I have been waiting a very, very longtime for this location to open. Although the food is as great as the other locations the service leaves much to be desired. My first trip was on a Friday night at 10:15pm, were one of three tables in the restaurant, and it still took forever for even our appetizer to come out. My second trip I sat at the bar. My friend and I had a few drinks and ordered food, non of which required cooking. After 45 mins I had to ask the waitress if she could check on my salad. I never ever, and I mean ever, complain at a restaurant so it has to be bad when I actually do. I really love the food but the service will make me think twice before I go back. I hope they get the opening woes out of the way soon so I can enjoy my mellow mushroom!

I was excited when this place opened, now that I've been a couple times I'm not impressed. Pizza is average at best. Service has been horrible EVERYTIME we've been. The only saving grace for this place is the beer selection. For the money there are better pizza places in town, as much as it pains me to say, dominos makes a better pie.

I wanted to try this MM when I was in town as my last time having MM was several years ago in Tallahassee. Plus, my parents informed me that there was vegan pizza so I was excited to go! We were seated quickly, but our server seemed new and wasn't sure of any of the alcohol selections. When taking my order I made sure to say no feta, no tofu, and vegan cheese instead of mozzarella. When our food came out mine had feta on it and had to be sent back. It seemed to take a while to have a new one brought out, and while waiting I asked for a new beer and that didn't come out until my pizza did. However, once it did it was very good and was even better the next day (the 10" is good for one person, I had to bring home half). My fiance and dad split a build your own pizza and loved it and my mom enjoyed her kosmic karma pizza. I will def be back next time I'm in town. Oh yeah, the pita bread and hummus was very good too!

I used to be a waiter. But service doesn't factor in as much in my reviews of restaurants . Go figure. I guess I understand all of the things out of a servers control. The main factors for me are quality of food and the value or price of the experience. Service is included in that but you won't see me start a review with "service was awful we are never going back" . Anyway, to me, I won't be back to the Mellow Mushroom because $20 for a medium pizza and $2.50 for a coke is ridiculous. The three of us had pizza salad and cokes and the bill was $70. C'mon .I was really disappointed with this place after hearing all the hype and watching the place be built. The building alone must have cost a fortune and the owners are passing that cost on to the customers. The nice new cars in the parking lot should have told me it was going to be pricey. I guess I am an old school pizza guy so I was unimpressed by all the hippy themed pizzas. It seemed like it was trying to be California Pizza Kitchen. But didn't quite hit the mark. CPK does this foo foo pizza thing better and for less cost and better food. It's just this simple. If I want a salad , pizza, and a coke I am going to Tony's. Or for the most authentic pizzeria experience it has to be Tony's in Deland.
